Strakhov list

I have actually been having a lot of luck with a list that is close the original one I posted.

Strakhov

Beast 09
Gun Carriage
Man O War Drakhun
Fenris
War Dog
Yuri the Axe
Great Bears
Manhunter

I have heard some comments from dudes at the FLGS that I should have at least one unit of infantry or some support dudes. I understand gorman or eiryss can do things that hamper my opponent and they are really nice. However I just want to have everything move the same speed (6") and include a bunch of things my opponent knows can kill huge chunks of stuff. That changes the psychology of the game a little bit. All I need is for a small piece of my army to get to his and I can do a lot of gutting. So far I have been using Strakhov's feat to remove the opposing army rather than specifically go for a caster kill (although a majority of the time the feat has gone off something has ended up with melee range to the caster.)

Generally I have the carriage screen strakhov, and use the drakhun and wardog to protect strakhov on his feat turn. If I think I have a shot at the caster I put focus on beast 09, if I don't think I can get the caster with him I cast overrun on Beast 09 so that I can move strakhov back after 09 kills something. Superiority is always up and generally I put stealth on something, but tend to drop stealth on the feat turn so I have more focus, everyone is usually in melee anyways.

So far the games I have lost have been mistakes that I have made with the gun carriage (that thing blocks a huge a lane) BUT I still like the gun carriage because people either try to ignore it or put forth a lot of effort to get rid of it. I just like it because its mobile terrain that makes rough terrain. I guess you could say I see the gun carriage as my support model.

P.S. I gotta remember how to do the thing where a word is also a link, that way I can link to all the models through their name so if you need a quick reference you have the info just a click away.

Khador it is

For the time being my blog is going to be pretty much all warmachine stuff. 40K has kind of gotten stale for me as of late. I have been busy with a kitchen remodel as well as 2 jiujitsu tournaments but I really got the Warmachine bug, mostly started by Chris Kluwe. Expect more to come as I figure this game out. Obviously I am gonna play Khador because it offers the biggest change of pace from the Tau. Specifically I am looking at Strakhov and Karchev for now with sharp eyes also on ESorscha and EButcher when I learn the first 2. More to come!
